Welcome to our newest team member!!

By now most of you have met our newest employee  Sandra L. Zepp.  Sandy is the smiley faced office manager who answers the phones and greets you when you walk in. Sandy graduated from Cuyahoga Valley Career Center in June of 2007. She is a Certified Dental Assistant and trained in CPR; however, she spends most of her time up front taking care of the daily office procedures. This includes, but not limited to, answering/returning calls, greeting patiences, scheduling, applying money, collecting. She can also assist you with insurance or basic dental question. She was referred to us by our hygienist and her neighbor, Linda.

Sandy has been married to her husband Scott since May 1992. She has two grown sons, Scott(y) and Patrick. The family enjoys camping around Ohio between May and October. They also enjoy taking the trailer to the east coast to camp near the ocean. They  take the trips with their sons, when they are available and almost always with their English bulldog, Norman.

We are happy to have Sandy on our team and wish her many years and many Blessings!

You could be allergic to your toothpaste

Do you get painful sores or ulcers in your mouth more then 4 times a year? YOU COULD BE ALLERGIC TO YOUR TOOTHPASTE!! Research has shown that more people are developing an allergy to an ingredient in some types of toothpaste called Sodium Lauryl Sulfate. Ask your hygienist what toothpastes are SLS free!

Having Your Teeth Cleaned When The Doctor Is Out Of Town

Ohio law allows a qualified, licensed hygienist to see patients in the office without a dentist being present. Our hygienist Linda has been a certified dental hygienist since 1996 and is certified to perform expanded functions since 1990. She can preform procedures such as cleanings, X-rays, fluoride treatments, recement crowns temporarily and adjust and polish chips and fillings without Dr. Irene being present. This allows patients to be seen when the doctor is out of town. Be assured that if any suspicious areas are detected by Linda an appointment will be made for Dr.Irene to examine the areas and treat them if needed at a convenient time for the patient.

Going Digital

Dr. Irene is excited to announce that our office is going digital! The doctor has made the investment to convert our dental x-rays to a digital system that uses sensors in place of films. This new system is direct digital which means the sensors are plugged into the USB port on our computers  and as soon as an x-ray is taken the image will show up on the computer screen in the room and be saved to the patients chart. This digital system will give Dr. Irene a sharper, clearer, larger image to look at when she is diagnosing decay and other tooth related problems. In addition to the superior quality of the images, going digital is also better for your health and the environment! Using digital drastically reduces the amount of radiation the patient is exposed to and reduces the amount of plastics we put into land fills. The old film dental x-rays are made up of several layers of plastic and a thin led foil. Film also requires to be chemically processed before the x-ray could be viewed. The new digital system has one sensor and no chemicals at all! We can’t wait to see you in the office and show you the benefits of this new system in person!
